The Digital Council is a body entrusted with the task of giving advice to a decision-making or executive management body with regard to the shaping of digitalization, digital change and digital transformation.

The word Digital Council is used in particular to describe a council that advises political leadership bodies on selected aspects of digitisation, digital change and digital transformation.

The government of the Federal Republic of Germany set up a Digital Council in 2018. Previously, the government of the German federal state of Lower Saxony had already set up an advisory body known as the Digital Council in 2017.
