The term “digital market” is used in two different meanings.

In what is probably the dominant meaning, a “digital market” is defined as the confluence of supply and demand, which comes about on the basis of digital information and communication technologies. In this sense, the term refers to a market or a market event that unfolds on a digital platform. The digital markets defined in this sense include in particular “virtual marketplaces”.

In secondary meaning, a “digital market” is defined as the confluence of supply and demand for digital goods, rights and services.
