Extraspheral processes” are processes which take place completely outside a certain sphere.

The term “extraspheral process” is used in the terminology of the “Digital Era Framework”, a framework of reference proposed to systematize the conceptual changes occurring in the course of digitization and digital transformation.

In the “Digital Era Framework”, the term “extraspheral processes” refers in particular to processes of transmission, storage or processing of information that take place outside a certain sphere, such as the infosphere, the entisphere or the cognisphere.

The term “extraspheral processes” is contrasted with those of “intraspheral processes” and “interspheral processes”.
