The term “Industry 4.0″[pronounced “Industry four point zero”] describes the epoch in industrial history after the so-called “Fourth Industrial Revolution” and emphasizes in particular the way in which industrial production functions in this period, which will be characterized by a comprehensive interweaving of industrial production and manufactured products with digital information technologies.
