A “management futurist” is an expert who attempts to present coherent scenarios or visions of the future with regard to the development of management theory and management practice, in particular with respect to the newly emerging challenges.
A “management futurist” deals with the future development of all those processes that are aimed at the responsible leadership human activity and are based on rational, primarily economic, principles and methods.
If a broad understanding of the term “management” is adopted, the term “management futurist” can thus be defined as an expert who attempts to point out coherent scenarios or visions of the future with regard to the future development of the teaching and practice of the related processes of analysis, planning, decision, organisation, coordination and control, which aim at the responsible leadership of human action and are based on rationally justifiable, in particular economic, principles and methods.
