An “oto-digital interface” is the part of a system that enables the inter-spheral transition of information between the sensory organ of the ears and the digital infosphere.

The term “oto-digital interface” was coined as part of the terminology of the “Digital Era Framework”. In this reference framework, four spheres are distinguished according to the type of manifestation of information, which can be used to classify interfaces: The infosphere, which consists of the analog infosphere and the digital infosphere, the cognisphere and the entisphere.

An “oto-digital interface” can be considered either as a “bio-digital interface” and an “enti-digital interface” or as a “cogni-digital interface”. If the brain is brought into focus as a physical organ, then it is part of the biosphere and thus part of the entisphere. From a functional point of view, on the other hand, a reference to the cognisphere must be taken into account.
