A “political consultant” is a natural or legal person who, as part of his or her professional activities, provides advice in a professional manner, on the basis of specialist expertise, to politicians and the political leadership of communities in connection with their political activities, by providing an explanation of facts based on knowledge and analysis in conjunction with an evaluation of alternative courses of action derived from this, which results in a recommendation.

A “political consultant” is a specialised form of a consultant who offers the advisory service of political consulting. Often political consulting is focused on the matters of strategy consulting.
