“Professional Competence” is the totality of the knowledge, skills and abilities of a natural person or organization relating to a particular subject or profession. Competence in a certain specific subject area is referred to as “professional competence”.

In a further understanding of the term “professional competence” refers to all the knowledge, abilities and skills of a natural person or organisation relating to a field of specialisation as defined by the factual context, the field of activity or the field of work.
