A speaker in the broadest functional sense is a person who addresses a verbal message to another person.

A speaker in the narrower functional sense is a person who delivers a speech.

A speaker in the institutional sense is a person who speaks regularly in a professional manner. A speaker in the professional sense is a person who makes speeches as part of his or her professional activity, i.e. a person who offers to deliver speeches, lectures and presentations in a professional manner for a fee.
