A “value grid” is the entirety of the entities and the connections existing between them, which enables an interaction aimed at “value creation”.

A “value grid” is the totality of actors and the links between them, which enables interaction aimed at production to cover human needs under the conditions of existing scarcity.

Digitalization and digital transformation are leading to an increasing development of network structures in which value creation is taking place. The terms “value grid” and “value network” are terms used to take this into account linguistically by differentiating them from the idea of a linear sequence behind the term “value creation chain”.
