A “housekeeping robot” is a robot that is designed to perform household work, domestic activities and housekeeping related tasks autonomously and that is used in private households in particular.

In a broad sense, the term “housekeeping robot” also refers to robots that perform housekeeping tasks in companies and public buildings.
